A tragic incident in Krishnanagar, West Bengal has sparked outrage after an 18-year-old girl was found dead, her body partially stripped and burns on her face. Her fiancé, Rahul Bose in his early 20s, was arrested following allegations from the girl’s parents. They reported she went out with him for pizza on Tuesday before disappearing. However, this is not mentioned in the later news reports.
An unsettling twist emerged when a post appeared on the victim’s Facebook account an hour before her body was discovered, reading: “No one is responsible for my death.” After seeing the Facebook post at 10:30 pm, one of their mutual friends called Bose after 11 pm and asked him to look into the matter and talk to the woman immediately.
Bose then claims to have called the woman several times, but the phone rang without anyone picking up. The autopsy report indicated that the woman died between 11 pm and 3 am.
The postmortem report shows that the death was due to antemortem burn injuries. Analysing the boyfriend’s tower location, the police found, he was present in a nearby field for a long time during the incident. An eyewitness corroborated the police’s version, saying he was seen sitting in the field with a friend on the night of the woman’s death.
