Not safe with pink force!
On October 24th, a strange video surfaced from Siliguri, West Bengal, showing a woman police officer pulling another woman towards her and kissing her. This incident has led to public outrage, with many demanding strict action against the officer.
Siliguri Police recently launched Pink Patrol Vans to improve women’s safety in the city, operating around the clock. These vans, introduced by Commissioner C Sudhakar, aim to ensure better security for women. However, on October 24th, a female officer from one of these Pink Patrol Vans allegedly harassed a woman while on duty, which caused widespread anger.
The viral video shows the officer grabbing and kissing the woman on the lips. According to reports, the officer was intoxicated while on duty, which further fueled the public’s anger. The officer, identified as ASI Tanya Roy, has been suspended following the incident.
Local reports suggest that the officer also mistreated two minors, a boy and a girl, who were talking near a school at night. Their parents and locals claimed that the children were simply talking and not engaging in any inappropriate behavior, but the officer, allegedly drunk, abused them without asking questions. Later, a woman civilian was also reportedly harassed.
