Doctor Arrested for Raping and Blackmail After Drugging Patient:
In a deeply disturbing case reported from Hasnabad, West Bengal, a doctor, Nur Alam Sardar, is accused of sexually assaulting a female patient by injecting her with sedatives to render her unconscious and filming the assault. He later used the footage to blackmail her for a sum of ₹4 lakh, threatening to release the video on social media if she refused. The doctor reportedly sexually assaulted her multiple times, exploiting the video as leverage each time.
The survivor and her husband, who works in Bihar, decided to come forward and filed an FIR with the Hasnabad police station on Monday evening. Police acted quickly, arresting Sardar from his residence-cum-clinic. The accused has since been remanded to custody for four days, and an investigation is underway. The victim’s statement has been recorded, and further legal proceedings are expected as the police continue to examine the case.
