A mother and her 15-year-old daughter in Jharkhand, have been arrested following the death of a man who had harassed them for two months.
Raju Mandal, 25, broke into their house many times at night in an intoxicated state, harassing the young daughter. The mother and daughter claim they sought help from villagers, but no one intervened.
In a desperate act of self-defense, they rigged a bamboo pole with exposed electrical wires at their entrance. On Saturday night, Mandal was electrocuted when he attempted to break in again.
Police confirmed that no prior complaints had been filed regarding the harassment. The woman has been arrested, and her daughter sent to an observation center. Investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances.
