Shot Over Marriage: Woman Critically Injured by Ex-Boyfriend in Madhya Pradesh
A 23-year-old woman was critically injured after being shot by her ex-boyfriend with a country pistol in a Tikamgarh restaurant on Tuesday afternoon. The accused, Kapil Tiwari, 24, reportedly shot her in the chest when she refused to marry him.
According to witnesses, the couple entered through the back gate, ordered food, and began talking. Moments later, a loud gunshot shocked everyone, leaving the woman bleeding and Kapil detained by bystanders.
The victim was rushed to the district hospital for emergency care and later referred to Jhansi due to severe blood loss. Police revealed that the couple had been in a relationship but had stopped speaking. Kapil was still pushing the woman to marry him and then shot with a country-made pistol, which has since been seized by the police.
This horrifying act sheds light on the persistent threat of violence women face, even from those they once trusted.
