A horrifying human egg harvesting racket has come to light in Georgia, where around 100 women were held captive and exploited. Chinese gangs operated the racket, which was exposed after three Thai women were rescued with the help of Thailand’s Pavena Foundation for Children and Women.
How were the women trapped ? It all began with a fake job offer on Facebook promising ₹10-15 lakh to work as surrogates for childless couples in Georgia. Desperate for financial opportunities, many women applied. The organization handled their passports and visas, creating a façade of legitimacy. But once they arrived, the nightmare began—they were taken to isolated properties, stripped of their freedom, and surrounded by nearly a hundred other women trapped in the same scheme.
What happened next? Victims were forcibly injected with hormones to stimulate egg production and underwent monthly procedures to extract their eggs—often under anesthesia and without proper consent. The harvested eggs were allegedly sold internationally for IVF treatments. “We were scared. It was nothing like what was promised,” said one survivor.
