Professor Arrested for Sexually Exploiting Female Students in Hathras College

Anonymous letter leads to arrest of Hathras college professor for sexual exploitation and blackmail.

In a disturbing case of abuse of power, Dr. Rajneesh Kumar, Chief Proctor of Bagla Degree College in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh, was arrested on March 20, 2025, for sexually exploiting female students. The arrest followed an anonymous letter exposing his misconduct, triggering a police investigation that led to his apprehension in Prayagraj while he sought anticipatory bail.

Kumar, a Geography Department professor, and Chief Proctor, allegedly used special software on his phone and laptop to secretly record students, keeping the front screen off. These recordings were later used to blackmail victims into silence and compliance. Police revealed that Kumar’s predatory actions began in 2019 with a female staff member and extended to at least seven to eight female students over the years.

He lured students with promises of higher marks, academic promotions, and job placements, building trust with expensive gifts and money before exploiting them in his office. The blackmail continued even after graduation, trapping victims in a cycle of abuse.

Police recovered incriminating evidence from his devices, and a case has been filed at Hathras Gate station. As the investigation unfolds, the court will soon address this chilling breach of trust. The courage of the anonymous whistleblower has shattered years of silence, exposing the vulnerability of students to such predators.
