Nalagarh Family Blocks Highway Over Woman’s Mysterious Death
The family of Neha, a 25-year-old woman from Ropar, Punjab, staged a protest on the Baddi-Nalagarh National Highway, demanding the arrest of her in-laws following her mysterious death. Neha, married to Sanjiv Kumar, a soldier from Rampur Gujran village, died at PGI Chandigarh after being hospitalized for suspected poisoning, just five months after her November 2024 wedding.
On the evening of April 19, around 8:45 pm, the family received a call from a neighbour stating that Neha was unwell and urging them to come quickly. Upon reaching her in-laws’ house, they found her unconscious in a room, while the in-laws were allegedly seated indifferently in another.
The family alleges Neha faced harassment from her in-laws, including demands for a car, and suspects foul play. Frustrated by the delay from police, they moved her body to Nalagarh and launched a protest outside the police station, demanding swift justice. Six individuals, including Neha’s husband, have been arrested.
