A Bhopal gang systematically drugged, raped, and blackmailed college students, echoing the 1992 Ajmer scandal’s brutality. Three arrests and a special team probe confirm an organized crime network.
On April 18, 2025, Bhopal police uncovered a chilling rape and blackmail racket when two sisters, students at TIT College on Raisen Road, filed a complaint at Bagsewania station. The accused, led by Farhan Ali (alias Faraz), lured victims into a “love trap,” drugged them with spiked drinks or marijuana, and raped them, recording assaults for blackmail. Victims faced threats with knives, assaults in moving vehicles, and coercion into drug addiction, with some pressured to convert religiously.
The racket, active since 2022, systematically targeted vulnerable students, with Sahil Khan using dance classes to ensnare girls, starting with a Betul student. Police arrested Farhan, Sahil, and Saad, while Ali, Abrar, and Nabeel remain absconding. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) recovered videos of 10–15 other girls from the suspects’ phones, now under forensic analysis. Three FIRs were filed under rape, POCSO, and Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act provisions, confirming an organized network.
The case mirrors the 1992 Ajmer scandal, where six men were jailed for exploiting 100 schoolgirls. X posts, like @salarehindnews’s with 3,000 views, noted the racket’s calculated tactics. Bhopal reported 1,200 rape cases in 2024, per police data, underscoring ongoing safety challenges. The SIT is probing Indore links, amid calls for campus security reforms.
