Drunk Kanpur Cop Hits Woman, Dismisses Incident with ‘Koi Baat Nahi’
Kanpur: A police sub-inspector, Kamlesh Kumar, allegedly drunk, hit Poonam Singh with his car on April 26, 2025, near Gayatri Temple in Kanpur’s Kalyanpur. The incident, captured on video, shows Kumar driving on the wrong side, striking Poonam, a pedestrian buying flowers, and casually saying “Koi Baat Nahi” as locals confronted him. Poonam, injured with a fractured leg, underwent surgery.
Her husband, alleged police initially shielded Kumar, delaying the FIR and medical examination. The video’s viral spread on social media sparked outrage, prompting the ACP to confirm action against Kumar.
