A chilling murder: Surbhi Raj, a hospital director in Patna, was beaten and shot dead in her hospital chamber. Police say her husband, Rakesh Roshan alias Chandan Singh (34), and four others plotted the crime to silence her opposition to his affair and financial irregularities in the running of the hospital.
According to the police, Rakesh was having an extramarital affair with a hospital employee, which Surbhi opposed. On the day of the incident, she confronted Rakesh over the affair. In a fit of rage, Rakesh, along with four accomplices, shot her five times at close range in her office chamber.
Investigators found signs of severe blunt force trauma on her face, indicating she was physically assaulted before being shot. The accused reportedly attempted to remove evidence from the crime scene but were caught after a swift police investigation.
