Milla Magee, the reigning Miss England, has withdrawn from the Miss World 2025 pageant in Hyderabad, citing feelings of exploitation and ethical concerns.
In an interview with The Sun, Magee stated she “felt like a prostitute” after being paraded before wealthy male sponsors, describing the experience as being “farmed out for entertainment.”
She criticized the pageant for its outdated practices, including expectations for contestants to wear makeup and evening gowns throughout the day.
Magee’s departure marks the first time in the pageant’s 74-year history that Miss England has exited the competition, prompting widespread discussions on the treatment of women in such events.
