Parents in Arrah, Bihar, Sell 12-Year-Old Daughter for ₹1.5 Lakh
In a shocking incident in Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, a 12-year-old girl was rescued from trafficking. She was sold by her parents in Arrah, Bihar, for ₹1.5 lakh to be a “bride.”
The groom, 30, stopped at a dhaba in Kaushambhi on the way to Alwar, Rajasthan. The girl asked the restaurant staff for help. She made serious allegations against the groom and refused to go with him. The dhaba owner immediately informed the police on 112.
The girl was rescued and sent to a One-Stop Centre for protection, while police arrested the accused, including the parents and the buyer.
