Punjab Influencer Killed Over ‘Vulgar’ Videos — Accused Wanted to Teach Her a Lesson
Popular Punjabi influencer Kanchan Kumari, known online as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, was strangled to death in her own car near Adesh University in Bathinda.
Bathinda police have arrested two men, Jaspreet Singh and Nimratjit Singh, for her murder. A third accused, self-styled Sikh radical Amritpal Singh Mehron, is absconding. Police say Mehron had warned her earlier over her “vulgar” content and wanted to “teach her a lesson.”
He lured her to Bathinda under the pretext of a paid promotion. On June 9, she left home in Ludhiana with the two arrested men. A few hours later, she was killed with a waistband in her car — a case of disturbing moral vigilantism.
The accused are allegedly linked to the Nihang sect but were not in traditional attire at the time.
Police say the motive behind the murder was not personal but an act of unauthorised “moral policing.” The hunt for Mehron continues.
