Kerala : A 33‑year‑old lab operator, Aslam Areekkara, was arrested on 14 June 2025 in Kuttiady for planting a hidden camera in the women’s bathroom of a staff accommodation near the Taluk Hospital. Around 9 pm, a visiting woman saw him filming near a window with his mobile phone. She raised the alarm and locals quickly intervened.
CCTV footage confirmed that Aslam had entered the washroom and placed the device. Police arrived after being alerted by residents, evacuated the women, and took him into custody. Investigations are underway, and authorities are reviewing CCTV records to determine the extent of any recordings.
