Bareilly police arrested Musabbir, a local milkman, for harassing a minor girl in the Izzatnagar area. The incident occurred on Saturday evening, when the girl, returning from a coaching class in her school uniform, was targeted by the accused on a bike. CCTV footage captured Musabbir touching the girl inappropriately while riding past and fleeing.
The victim informed her family, who, along with local residents, filed a complaint at the police station that night. Acting on the tip Police deployed three teams, including the Special Operations Group (SOG), to track the accused. Within 36 hours, police located Musabbir.
During the operation, Musabbir attempted to escape and fired at the police, prompting retaliatory action. A bullet struck his right leg, leading to his immediate arrest. A country-made pistol was recovered, and an additional case under the Arms Act was registered against him. He was sent to a hospital for treatment and is set to be presented in court on Monday.
