Sandhya had simply said no. And it cost her life.
A horrific act of violence unfolded in Narsinghpur District Hospital, Madhya Pradesh, where 19-year-old nursing student Sandhya Chaudhary was brutally murdered by Abhishek Koshti, a man obsessed with her, unable to accept her rejection. The chilling incident, captured on CCTV and mobile footage, exposed deep flaws in hospital security and public response.
At around 2 PM, Sandhya arrived at the hospital to visit a friend’s sister-in-law in the maternity ward. Koshti, who had been loitering since noon, confronted her near the emergency wing. After a brief exchange, he slapped her, pinned her to the ground, and slit her throat, ending her life on the spot. The attack, lasting nearly 5 minutes, occurred in broad daylight with hospital staff, doctors, nurses, and two security guards nearby, yet no one intervened. Some bystanders even filmed the scene as Sandhya bled to death.
Koshti attempted to harm himself before fleeing on a motorcycle. He was arrested within hours.
