She Asked Him to Wait. He Responded With Violence
The man, identified as Gopal Jha, was accompanying a patient to the clinic. When the receptionist informed him that the doctor was in a meeting with a medical representative and requested him to wait, he lunged at her, grabbed her by the hair, and slammed her to the floor. He then kicked her repeatedly before others intervened. The entire incident was recorded on the clinic’s CCTV camera.
A case has been registered against the accused at Manpada police station, and authorities have launched a manhunt as he fled the scene.
This violent outburst is not an isolated incident. Healthcare workers across India—particularly women—have increasingly faced aggression from patients’ families, often in high-stress environments. This attack underscores the urgent need for stronger laws, quicker justice, and protective measures for all medical and administrative staff working in clinics and hospitals.
Doctors, nurses, and receptionists are the first line of care. They deserve respect—and the right to feel safe at work.
