In the interest of truth, we are posting the earlier part of the story, an incident we recently covered regarding an attack on a Doctor’s assistant in Kalyan, Maharashtra. Now, newly surfaced CCTV footage from the clinic has revealed a key development in the assault case.
The earlier clip showed a man, Gopal Jha, attacking a female receptionist. However, the latest footage provides additional context. It shows that the receptionist slapped a woman—reportedly the patient—first (as seen in the new video), moments before the accompanying man retaliates. While this new detail does not justify or excuse the severe physical assault that followed, it adds necessary clarity to what led to the chain of events.
As a feminist and social justice platform, we believe that accountability must be universal. No one—man or woman—should resort to physical aggression. It is essential that all sides of a story are acknowledged, especially when public opinion and safety are involved.
