PG Owner Arrested for Raping Resident In Bangalore

A disturbing incident took place in Soladevanahalli, Bengaluru. A 37-year-old man named Ashraf, who owns a PG (paying guest) accommodation, was arrested. Ashraf originally from Kerala, has been accused of raping a 20-year-old student.

The victim had moved into the PG just 10 days before the attack. Ashraf befriended her during that short time. He asked her for a ride and lured her into his car. They went to an isolated location on the northern outskirts of Bengaluru where Ashraf attacked her.

Despite being threatened to stay silent, the student found the courage to report the assault.

Soladevanahalli police acted swiftly, arresting Ashraf and remanding him to judicial custody following the victim’s complaint. A medical examination has been conducted, and her statement is aiding the ongoing investigation.
