Woman Hangs from Moving Auto to Flee Robbery and Abduction
Meena boarded the auto from Jalandhar Bypass Chowk, unaware that the driver and two co-passengers were part of a gang. When one of the men tried to tie her hands with her dupatta to snatch her phone, she resisted, clung to the auto, and cried for help.
Commuters nearby rushed to her aid, intercepting the vehicle and catching two accused—identified as Mohit alias Manu and Dimple Makkar alias Bunty—while a third accomplice, Shubham, managed to escape. Police recovered three stolen mobile phones from the arrested men, one of whom already faces trial in multiple cases.
