A 22-year-old criminal, Jitendra, was arrested in Ghaziabad’s first encounter by an all-women police team. The operation unfolded late last night, September 23, in Uttar Pradesh.
Acting on a tip-off, the all-women police team, led by SHO Mahila Thana Ritu Tyagi alongside Sub-Inspectors Vineeta Yadav and Bhuvneshwari Singh, and Head Constables Mamata Kumari and Neetu Singh, intercepted Jitendra during routine night checks targeting hooters and tinted windows, signaling him to halt. Jitendra, riding a two-wheeler, accelerated in an attempt to escape, lost control, and crashed. As he tried to flee on foot, he fired a country-made pistol at the officers, prompting the team to respond with gunfire that struck and injured his leg.
After an interrogation, Jitendra confessed to over 10 theft and robbery cases across Delhi-NCR, admitting to stealing bikes and scooters while snatching phones and other items, including a phone and tablet seized on Sunday.
