40 Minor Girls Found In Illegal Madarsa Toilet

Educational spaces are meant to protect and nurture, but when institutions run without oversight, it leaves kids vulnerable to neglect and danger. Proper monitoring ensures that schools and madarsa operate safely and children can learn without fear. The need to regulate education becomes clear when such gaps put children at risk.

The recent Bahraich incident is a stark example. During a district administration raid in Pahalwara village, Bahraich, UP, authorities discovered 40 minor girls, aged 9 to 14, locked inside a toilet on the terrace of an unregistered madrasa. The madrasa, identified as Jamia Ghazia Gulshan-e-Ghausulwara, had been operating illegally for nearly three years without the necessary permissions. Despite having eight rooms, the girls were confined to the toilet, reportedly out of fear during the inspection.

Authorities immediately shut down the madrasa and sent the children back to their families, while investigations into the institution continue. The case highlights why oversight in education is essential: without regulation, children remain vulnerable, and their safety and well-being cannot be taken for granted.
