On October 3, 2025, a 22-year-old girl went missing after leaving for college. Three days later, her family reported the disappearance. A foul smell from a house in Vaishali Avenue Colony, noticed three days after the murder, alerted neighbors, leading police to find Lakshita’s body in a blue drum.

The killer, 35-year-old Monu, alias Manoj Chauhan, surrendered to police. He admitted luring Lakshita to his home. He tied her up and drowned her in a water-filled drum. Anger over her relationship with another man drove him to kill. Her body is in Indore for postmortem. Chauhan is under interrogation. Lakshita’s father demands the death penalty. He fears any woman could be next.
