Twenty-five women from a remote village in Jharkhand have become symbols of rural resilience by building a much-needed road on their own after repeated requests to local authorities went unanswered.
These women, fueled by determination and a desire for safer, easier access to markets, healthcare, and education, gathered together to clear dense brush, dig soil, and lay a functional path that will benefit their entire community.
Their initiative highlights the urgent need for infrastructure development in neglected regions and showcases the strength and resourcefulness of grassroots women’s collectives. By taking matters into their own hands, these women have not only improved daily life in their village but also set a powerful example of community action and women’s leadership in rural India.
