A Rapido bike-taxi trip turned into a nightmare for a young woman when her driver allegedly grabbed her legs twice .
The incident unfolded on November 6 evening, Church Street, when she booked a Rapido to her PG. Barely minutes into the ride, the driver—addressed as “captain”—touched her legs inappropriately. Stunned and disoriented by the unfamiliar route, she froze. He did it again. This time she said, “Bhaiya, kya kar rahe ho? Mat karo!” He didn’t flinch. Only when she reached her destination —shaking, crying—a passerby intervene. The driver muttered apologies, promised never to repeat it, then pointed a threatening finger at her before fleeing.
Shaken but resolute, she posted a chilling video and photos on Instagram, captioning: “No woman should endure this. Stay alert. Speak up.” This wasn’t her first close call.
Bengaluru Police immediately reached out, asking for her details to launch a probe. Rapido responded: “We take this seriously. Investigation underway.” The viral post has triggered outrage, with users demanding stricter background checks and real-time safety alerts for women riders.
