Himachal Pradesh : A19-year-old college student, Pallavi, from Government Degree College, Dharamsala, died after allegedly facing ragging and harassment on campus. According to her family, the incident occurred on September 18, when Pallavi was allegedly assaulted and intimidated by three fellow students — Harshita, Aakriti, and Komolika. It was also alleged that Professor Ashok Kumar behaved inappropriately with her.
Following the incident, Pallavi reportedly suffered severe mental trauma and her health deteriorated. She was treated at multiple hospitals before being shifted to a hospital in Ludhiana, where she died during treatment on December 26.
After her death, her father filed a police complaint. An FIR has been registered against the professor and the three students under ragging and harassment-related laws. Police say the investigation is ongoing.
