In a disturbing case from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, a 15-year-old Class 10th girl was betrayed by her two sisters who were her school friends.
After a school annual function, they invited her to their home in Paiga hamlet. They reportedly mixed an intoxicating substance into her food or drink, causing her to lose consciousness. Their brother then sexually assaulted her in a locked room while the sisters and parents were present outside, and the act was recorded on video for blackmail purposes.
The perpetrators threatened to leak the video on social media if the victim revealed anything. When the girl did not return home on time, her family grew concerned, searched for her, and eventually learned the truth.
An FIR was registered on February 15, 2026, against five individuals—the brother, his two minor sisters, and their parents—under sections related to rape, the POCSO Act, criminal conspiracy, criminal intimidation, and the IT Act.
Police have arrested the main accused, the brother.
