In a horrifying incident in Odisha, a 23-year-old woman left home with her 31-year-old boyfriend on February 22 intending to get married. He sexually assaulted her at a secluded spot, then abandoned her at a bus stand before fleeing. A 24-year-old passerby exploited her vulnerability, luring her to his rented house under the pretense of offering shelter, where he too raped her and pushed her from the fourth-floor roof to her death.
Police recovered her body the next morning and swiftly arrested both the boyfriend and the passerby. They face charges of kidnapping, rape, and murder under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), as investigations continue into this brutal case.
