Andhra Pradesh: A 32yo woman government employee was attacked and sexually assaulted inside her own home in Macherla town.
The woman was alone when a man came to her door asking for water. When she opened the door, he forced his way inside. He threatened her with a knife, tied her hands with a scarf, and gagged her with a cloth so she could not call for help.
During the attack, the woman tried to protect herself by telling him that she had an infectious disease (reported as HIV), but he did not stop and continued the assault. He raped her at knifepoint, beat her up and then inserted an iron rod into her private parts.
After the incident, she was found unconscious by her family members and was rushed to the hospital. Her condition is now said to be stable.
Police have registered a case and launched a search to catch the accused. Special teams are working to track him down.
