A family of eight went for a Sunday picnic at Bhavli Dam and waterfall in Igatpuri, Nashik. Their happy outing turned scary when some men harassed one of the women. When her husband and family objected, the men got angry and attacked them.
The group of men, joined by others from nearby stalls, chased the family for nearly 15 kilometers. They blocked the family’s car, smashed the windows with sticks and iron rods, and damaged the vehicle badly. Children were inside the car during the attack, and the family said they were very scared. The men also snatched a gold chain and a mobile phone.
Police in Igatpuri have detained nine of the ten accused and are looking for the last one. One of the detained men reportedly has a previous murder case. Police are investigating the complaints and trying to find the stolen phone.
