Pune: On April 19, 2025, alert citizens apprehended Rasool Attar, a school van driver, after he allegedly abused minor girls by taking them to isolated locations instead of their homes. The community handed him over to the Police, exposing his coercive behavior, including pressuring the girls to marry him.
The incident unfolded when parents noticed Attar’s suspicious actions, leading to a collective effort to monitor and catch him red-handed. Investigations revealed he had been manipulating the girls, exploiting their trust. This case underscores the urgent need for stricter oversight of school transport staff, as the police continue their probe into the extent of his actions.
