Rajasthan Doctor’s Death Due To Severe Burns Triggers Murder Investigation.

Dr. Bhavna Yadav, 25, died from severe burns in Hisar; her mother alleges she was stabbed and set on fire.
A missing suspect and CCTV evidence intensify a high-stakes police probe.

On April 24, 2025, Dr. Bhavna Yadav, a 25-year-old MBBS graduate from Anantpura village, Rajasthan, died at Jaipur’s SMS Hospital after sustaining severe burns in Hisar, Haryana. She had traveled to Delhi on April 21 to prepare for a Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, staying with her sister. At 8:35 AM, Udesh Yadav, a clerk at Haryana Agricultural University and distant relative, informed her mother, Gayatri Devi, a school principal, that Bhavna was hospitalized in Hisar with critical burn injuries.

Upon arriving, Gayatri observed stab wounds on Bhavna’s abdomen, unburned hair, and back, leading her to suspect murder. She claimed Bhavna was attacked with a sharp weapon and set ablaze, noting her missing laptop, phone, and documents. Bhavna’s final message at 7:31 AM, promising to return home, heightened suspicions of foul play.

A zero FIR filed in Jaipur on April 25, transferred to Hisar’s Civil Lines Police, initiated a murder investigation under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita’s Section 103(1). Udesh, now absconding, is the prime suspect, with police analyzing CCTV footage of Bhavna’s last hospital moments. On X, #JusticeForBhavna trended, amassing 2,000 views, with users demanding accountability.

A 2023 crime report notes 62% of Indian women face violence, framing the case’s urgency. On April 30, Gayatri met Hisar’s SP, pressing for answers, as police searched Udesh’s quarters, uncovering potential evidence. The case continues to grip public attention, spotlighting safety concerns.
