Karnataka Husband, In-Laws Kill Doctor Wife Over Infertility, Stage Accident
In Belagavi, Karnataka, a 30-year-old doctor, Renuka Honakande, was allegedly murdered by her husband, Santosh Honakande, a techie, and his parents over her infertility. The trio staged her death as a road accident on May 17, 2025, in Malabad village.
Police say Renuka faced harassment for not bearing children. Despite Santosh’s second marriage, she lived with the family. On the day of the crime, Jayashree, Santosh’s mother, pushed Renuka off a motorcycle, attacked her with a stone, and Kamanna, her father-in-law, strangled her. They dragged her body 100 meters to fake an accident.
Suspicious of the unharmed in-laws, police interrogated Kamanna, who confessed. All three are in custody.
