In a gut-wrenching incident in Delhi’s Ashok Nagar, 19-year-old Neha was pushed off her rooftop by Taufiq, disguised in a burqa. The man, a former family acquaintance, reportedly harassed Neha after she cut ties with him upon learning he had lied about not having a sister.
According to Neha’s father, Surender Kumar, he rushed upstairs on hearing a commotion and witnessed Taufiq attacking his daughter. When he tried to intervene, Taufiq shoved him away and pushed Neha off the roof before fleeing.
Neha had recently started working at an oil company and was a pillar of support for her family. She had once considered Taufiq a brother, even tying him a rakhi, but stopped speaking to him after his deceit. The family claimed Taufiq had been threatening her, pressuring her to marry him, and even calling her office.
Police are investigating and have arrested Taufiq. In another version of the story, they were in a relationship, and Taufiq was about to be married, which led to an argument.
