UP: Gang-Rape Survivor Assaulted and Blackmailed By Police, Suspended

From Captivity Nightmare to Police Betrayal: UP Gang-Rape Survivor Assaulted Again!

Bulandshahar , a 28-year-old woman, kidnapped and gang-raped for 48 days last November, faced renewed horror when two sub-inspectors allegedly raped her and extorted ₹50,000 to “secure arrests” against her captors, turning her quest for justice into a deeper trauma.

The ordeal started when she connected with one man on Instagram, who lured her into meeting four others. They drugged her, held her captive across Aligarh and nearby areas, gang-raped her repeatedly, and forcibly converted her. She escaped and filed a complaint at Khurja police station. Investigations verified one accused—the Instagram contact—via call records and mobile locations; he was arrested and jailed. The other three were cleared due to no evidence linking them to the locations.

But help came at a cost when a sub-inspector summoned her to a private residence, where he raped her over two days. Another officer detained her husband, threatened a false case against him, and demanded ₹50,000 to act on the original accused. The men, described as influential, had already delayed her FIR and menaced her family. Recently, two bike-borne assailants attacked her, but no FIR was filed.

Last week, she lodged a complaint via the IGRS portal. Bulandshahr SSP Dinesh Kumar called the allegations “serious,” suspending both officers immediately. An inquiry is underway, though she has changed her account multiple times and hesitates to name them formally.
