A woman Lyft driver in Vancouver, Washington, is being hailed as a hero after she helped a passenger escape a violent domestic assault on November 15. According to Vancouver Police, the driver had just picked up the woman from work when her husband began chasing and repeatedly ramming their car in a desperate attempt to stop her. Dashcam footage released by authorities shows the terrifying pursuit that ended only when police intervened and arrested the man for assault and domestic violence.
Police praised the driver’s quick thinking and courage, sharing the video online to raise awareness about domestic abuse and support services. “This driver’s bravery not only saved a life but showed the strength of community compassion,” said Sgt. John Smith of the VPD.
