A cleaning staffer at Goyal Hospital in Krishna Nagar, Delhi, has been booked for stealing jewellery from an elderly patient in the emergency ward on November 11. Naveen Kumar Gupta had admitted his mother to the facility after her health deteriorated, and doctors recommended transferring her to a hospital with advanced care.
While Gupta briefly stepped out to arrange an ambulance, the woman’s gold tops and ear chain went missing from her person.​The hospital’s internal probe identified a member of the cleaning team as the suspect, leading to the recovery of the tops, which were returned to the family.
However, the ear chain remains untraced. The patient tragically passed away the same day during the transfer. Krishna Nagar police have registered a case under theft of the BNS, with investigations ongoing.
