In a gruesome crime spanning Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, taxi driver Bilal allegedly beheaded his 30-year-old live-in partner Uma , to end their nearly two-year secret relationship and marry another woman.
Uma, mother of a 13-year-old son, lived alone in Saharanpur after separating from her previous husband about 1.5 years ago (following a 15-year-old marriage where she left home a day before her wedding, married that partner, and later separated without custody of her son, who lives with his father). Bilal bore her expenses without his family’s knowledge.
That evening, Bilal picked Uma up from Saharanpur in a Swift car, drove around for nearly six hours, and took her to a secluded spot near Lal Dhang gorge by Kalesar forest. There, he murdered her and severed her head.
He dumped the headless body near Kalesar National Park in Haryana, where it was discovered, triggering a joint investigation by Uttar Pradesh and Haryana police. Bilal returned home to Saharanpur, shopped for his upcoming wedding, and acted normally.
Police arrested Bilal. During questioning, he led them to the concealed severed head. The weapon has not been recovered. Forensic formalities and further investigation are ongoing.
