A serious privacy concern has emerged at an authorised Samsung service centre located in Global IT Park, Kharghar, Navi Mumbai.
CCTV footage allegedly shows a technician accessing a customer’s personal smartphone during repair — opening WhatsApp, browsing the photo gallery, and actively typing on the device without any apparent repair-related reason.
After receiving the phone back, the customer noticed suspicious app activity and abnormal screen-time records, raising strong suspicion of unauthorised access to personal data.
This incident questions the basic data protection standards expected at authorised service centres.
