Her mother shared footage of the ordeal as a stark warning to others. Despite the medical emergency, she considers herself lucky to have recognized the warning signs and gotten a friend’s help.

According to reports, approximately 8% of women in America have experienced their drink being spiked at some point. In London, drink spiking offences have surged by 400% over the past five years, with every recorded incident carried out with the clear intention of facilitating further crimes such as sexual assault or theft.

Victims often suffer severe physical reactions, ranging from disorientation and unconsciousness to grave illness requiring hospital treatment, highlighting the serious and sometimes life-threatening nature of these acts.
