Bhopal: A 19-year-old man accused of raping and blackmailing a minor schoolgirl was thrashed by a group of lawyers inside a district court in Bhopal on Tuesday.
According to a report, the accused, identified as Osaf Ali Khan, was produced before the court when several lawyers and bystanders assaulted him. Police personnel present at the spot intervened and brought the situation under control.
Police said the man allegedly raped the minor, recorded the act, and later blackmailed her by threatening to release the video. The victim reportedly paid ₹40,000 before her family approached the police. An FIR has been registered under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections.
