In a chilling case of domestic violence, Vijay Kumar Chaubey has been arrested for the brutal murder of his 16yo daughter after she refused to end a her relationship with a boy. According to police reports, Vijay Kumar Chaubey believed the teenager’s actions had brought shame to the family, leading him to hatch a deadly conspiracy with his friend, Abdul Mannan. The victim had previously eloped with her boyfriend in August 2025, and despite being brought back home, she remained in contact with him, prompting Vijay Kumar Chaubey to relocate the home multiple times to avoid social stigma.
The situation turned fatal on April 13, when they rented a car to take the girl to Rajasthan for an exorcism or faith-healing rituals. While the teenager slept during the journey, Vijay Kumar Chaubey and Abdul Mannan strangled her to death on a deserted stretch of road in Barabanki. In a calculated effort to prevent her body from being identified, Vijay Kumar Chaubey poured acid over her face before abandoning the remains on the roadside.
In the days following the murder, Vijay Kumar Chaubey attempted to mislead authorities by filing a formal missing person’s complaint. However, investigators uncovered the plot through a detailed analysis of call records and inconsistencies in his statements. During interrogation, Vijay Kumar Chaubey eventually confessed to the killing, citing his fear of social disgrace as the primary motive. Both Vijay Kumar Chaubey and Abdul Mannan are currently in custody as legal proceedings continue.
