Girl Faces Attackers Alone To Keep Family Safe

A shocking incident was reported from the Kanchanpura area of Ujjain, MP, where the house of ITI employee Bhagirath Raikwar was attacked late at night over an old rivalry. At the time of the incident, Bhagirath was not home. His daughter Pooja and his elderly mother were inside the house when around 8-10 men arrived on bikes carrying sticks, petrol and an acid-like liquid. The group created chaos in the area, vandalised vehicles and even set one vehicle on fire.

In the middle of the violence, Pooja was seen bravely trying to stop the attackers all alone while they continued damaging the property. She called her bua Usha and cousin Bharat for help, but they too were attacked after reaching the spot.

The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras, showing continuous violence, vandalism and fighting from around midnight till 1 AM. Police later reached the spot and took one accused, identified as Golu, along with his minor accomplice into custody, while the remaining accused fled. The injured family members were admitted Hospital for treatment. Madhavnagar police have registered a case and are currently searching for the other accused.
