A 24-year-old man has been arrested for the brutal m*rder of 19-year-old Khushi Sahu, a pharmacy student, inside her paying guest accommodation in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. Police identified the accused as Pintu Sahu, who st*bbed Khushi multiple times after she rejected his advances and blocked his phone number. The incident occurred on Friday when the accused entered her rented room in Ramnagar while her roommate was in the bathroom.
According to investigators, Pintu Sahu had been obsessively harassing Khushi for over a month, calling her from different numbers and even threatening her brother. He confronted her in the room, leading to an argument where he tried to str*ngle her before attacking with a knife. Khushi succumbed to excessive bleeding. The roommate discovered her in a pool of blood, and she was declared d*ad at the hospital.
Police recovered the knife, reportedly purchased online, and arrested the accused as he fled toward Raipur. Further investigations are ongoing.
