Unsafe Everywhere: Women Face Daily Harassment in Public Spaces
Bengaluru: A woman faced harassment while waiting for a cab in the city’s Ramamurthy Nagar area. According to the woman, a man on a scooter approached her, asked, “What’s your rate?”, offered ₹10,000 in exchange for sexual favours, made obscene gestures, and passed inappropriate comments that left her fearing for her safety.
The woman confronted the man and began recording him on her phone. After she warned that she would share the video on social media, the accused fled the spot.
The video later went viral, prompting Bengaluru Police to identify the accused and register a case. Further investigation is underway.
