A 25yo Kalpana Mishra passed away shortly after giving birth at Sanjay Gandhi Memorial Hospital in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. A video shared later shows her in visible distress while under medical care, during which she expressed concerns for her well being and blamed the hospital staff.
She was admitted on the night of 25 August for her first delivery. On the night of 26 August, she underwent a caesarean section and delivered a baby. Tragically, both the mother and the newborn passed away soon after the procedure.
Her family members protested outside the hospital, raising serious concerns about the medical care provided. They alleged negligence and questioned the administration of anaesthesia. The family has demanded that police register an FIR and take strict action against those responsible. Two nurses on duty have been suspended, and an official inquiry committee has been formed. Hospital officials have assured a thorough probe, and post-mortem reports are awaited to determine the exact cause of the deaths. (Dainik Bhaskar)
