In Ahmedabad, Gujarat, a 22yo woman, Sofia was m*rdered by her father Mohammed Farooq and brother Mohammed Habil. Police say a video of her with a young man was circulated online. After seeing the video, Sofia’s father and brother feared social embarrassment and suspected a relationship. They then planned the act for about three months.
The father and son picked Sofia up from her workplace on a motorcycle. They later claimed an unidentified vehicle had hit them. Sofia d*ed from her injuries, and the incident was initially reported as a hit-and-run accident.
Further investigation found inconsistencies in the account, including no evidence of a crash at the location and no other vehicle in CCTV footage. Police determined the d*ath was staged. About a month later, both the father and brother were arrested in connection with the case.
