Dr. Shraddha Bhumre, a female medical officer at the Talegaon Shyamji Pant Primary Health Centre in Wardha, Maharashtra, was sl*pped by a detained man named Qadir Ali. He had been brought to the health centre for a medical examination and was under the influence of alcohol when he charged at the doctor. Police personnel and home guards were reportedly present during the incident. CCTV footage later surfaced on social media.
Following the incident, medical officers across Wardha district boycotted work and demanded strict action against the accused. The doctor filed a complaint, following which police registered a case against the man.
