A woman in Bhopal, MP, has filed for divorce after 10 years of marriage, saying that her husband repeatedly pressured her to quit her government hospital job and focus on household responsibilities. The couple, who had an inter faith love marriage, have a daughter together.
According to reports, the differences began around five years ago when the woman started working at a government hospital. Her husband reportedly objected to her working with male and female colleagues and continued to insist that she leave her job. She has been living separately with her mother for around two-and-a-half years.
During counselling at the family court, the woman reportedly made it clear that she would rather leave the marriage than give up her career.
